Join us for our annual new year's day marathon leagues!
Our New Year's Day Marathon Leagues are back on Wednesday, January 1st! Each year, many of you flock to Urban Durham, bleary-eyed from last night's celebrations, to welcome the New Year with your league community. We'll be hosting Premier and Standard Marathons ABC marathons this year, and both are available for registration below. "ABC" stands for "Always Be Clutching" and both leagues will feature mandatory Clutches in each 5-throw round! We first ran this marathon format at last year's New Year's Day Marathon and it's been frequently requested ever since, though this is the first time we're offering it with the Premier ruleset as well.
Throwers must have a 12-month Standard Average under 70 pts. to register for the Standard ABC Marathon league, and the Premier ABC Marathon will be open registration, meaning players of any average can register. This average cap allows us to offer two skill tiers and cater to more players.
Each player will throw 20 Standard or Premier Rules matches followed by a double elimination playoff! We need a minimum of 12 members to run the marathon league, and everyone will make the playoffs (even if we have more than 16 throwers!) Practice is at 10:30am and matches begin at 11am. Come throw some Clutches and kick your New Year off right!
