Join us for the final Tournament of Champions!
The holidays are almost here, and we're hosting one last Tournament of Champions! This event is a fun, friendly tournament that took place in the first few years of Urban Axes Austin and returned last December. Tournament of Champions is open to all past or present Urban Axes league members who have won a league championship. This will include those who win a league championship during Season 5 playoffs. Now champions from different years or different leagues will have a chance to compete with one another for bragging rights and the 2024 Tournament of Champions title!
This event also includes the Tournament of Future Champions! This tournament is open only to past or present Urban Axes league members who have not yet won a league championship (including at other venues!), and with all of the past league champs competing in their own event, a first-time champion is guaranteed to be crowned! Both tournaments will be played simultaneously and their format will be Swiss + Single-Elimination. Each player is guaranteed 4 matches before any elimination occurs, and matches will be played under Urban Rules to balance competition between Standard and Premier league throwers. There is no prize pool for either tournament, just fun, low-stakes throwing among friends!
As our last tournament of the year, Tournament of Champions will also serve as a leaguers holiday party! We encourage everyone to bring dishes for a festive potluck and to dress for the occasion, be it Ugly Sweaters or other holiday attire! Spectators are welcome, so please come and celebrate even if you aren't competing! The more the merrier!
